The apps we build

Six apps of our own, each with its own look and voice.

We design, build and run these apps in our Toronto studio, for kids, fans, families, the elders who hold our stories, curious minds and the rooms where people gather. Each one has a brand of its own, and they share one aim: give people a reason to spend time together.

Parler

Everyday life, in a new language

Stories about the people they love.

  • Language
  • For kids, families and classrooms

Parler helps kids learn a language through their own lives. A child tells what happened today, at home, at school or with friends, and Parler turns each sentence into an illustrated page in the language they are learning, then reads it with them as every word lights up. Grandparents can open the finished book from an email, with no app or account.

  • My turn: kids read a sentence aloud, and the score encourages another try, not a grade
  • Parler for schools: a teacher sets a prompt, and every child's book goes home
  • Safe by design: everyone in a story is a cartoon, and a parent approves every look
  • Languages include French, Spanish, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic
More about Parler
  • Tell: the child shares their day, and Parler writes it down sentence by sentence
  • Read along: a natural voice reads each page as every word lights up
  • Family: books open from an email in any browser, and invited family can send hearts back
  • On the web today, with the App Store and Google Play coming soon
  • No ads, no feed, and family data is never used to train AI

Where AI helps: it turns a child's spoken story into tidy sentences and asks the next question, draws each page from a parent-approved cartoon cast, translates, reads aloud and listens as the child reads back. None of it is trained on your family's data.

Jokerz

Jokerz Fantasy · Free to play

Every night is a hand. Call it before the tip.

  • Sports
  • For basketball fans, 13 and over

Jokerz is free daily fantasy basketball. Before tip-off, call one player's whole night as a five card hand in Magic Hand, or pick five players, one per stat, in Starting 5. The hand locks at tip-off, then the real box score flips every card face up, from a 2 all the way to the Joker. Every card you called right counts and earns Tokens, and five for five is a Perfect Five.

  • Free to play, with no entry fee and no cash prizes
  • Five suits for five stats: Stars, Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds
  • Jokerz Podcast Live, 24/7: Pocket Jack, Queen Kelly and Coach Cross talk through the night
  • Connect: every fan ranks a GOAT, a Top 50 and an all-time five, and sees where the room stands
More about Jokerz
  • Starting 5: one player per stat, changeable until that player's game starts
  • Magic Hand: call the exact card one player will land in each suit
  • Leagues: the group chat or the office plays the same slate
  • Standings update when the games go final

Where AI helps: it helps illustrate the card characters, gives the animated podcast hosts their voices and helps turn basketball headlines into talking points. A person reviews every episode before it goes out.

Panjo

New for iPhone, iPad and Android

A brand-new instrument that fits in your hand.

  • Music
  • For all ages, kids included

Half steel pan, half piano. Play it as a shell, as rings, as a piano or as a real steel pan, and play real songs in colour. Every note has its own colour, and the letters fade from Beginner to Expert as your ear takes over. Panjo carries the spirit of the steel pan, born in Trinidad and Tobago, and adds a piano's keys so anyone can play.

  • Free on iPhone, iPad and Android
  • Four layouts: Shell, Rings, Piano and Steel pan, with sounds from steel pan to marimba and kalimba
  • Games: Memory Game, Time Challenge, Perfect Pitch and Name That Tune
  • Better in a band: friends join with a code and play the same song together, live
More about Panjo
  • Learn by colour, from Beginner to Expert
  • Caribbean folk songs, nursery favourites, carols and classical themes
  • Record a melody and send it to a friend in a link
  • No ads and no tracking, and a grown-up decides what to buy
  • In English, French, Spanish and Kwéyòl

Where AI helps: some artwork, such as song backgrounds and spirit-animal banners, is made with AI. The music is all yours.

Waterfall

For the stories no one ever wrote down

Leave them your stories. In your own voice.

  • Memories
  • For storytellers and the families who keep their stories

Waterfall asks the questions that bring out the stories and the judgment of a lifetime. Every day brings a new one, built to get past 'it was fine' to what really happened and why it mattered. The storyteller speaks it, types it or photographs a letter, and each story becomes a page in their book, in their own voice. Years from now, a grandchild can ask 'What would Granddad say?' and get an answer in his words.

  • Interviews: record a real conversation, and each question becomes its own chapter
  • Private by default: the storyteller decides, story by story, who can hear it
  • Telling your stories is free, forever
  • Waterfall Classroom: students interview a grandparent or a neighbour
More about Waterfall
  • A new question every day, built from memory and behavioural research
  • Speak it, type it, or photograph a letter or a recipe card
  • Every recording transcribed and kept in the storyteller's own words
  • Ask it anything later, with answers that cite the story they came from
  • On iPhone, and in any browser

Where AI helps: it is the patient interviewer that asks the next gentle question, and the librarian that transcribes the stories and finds them again when the family asks. The stories themselves stay in the storyteller's own voice.

BirdsEye

Conferences · Exhibit halls · Hotels · Venues

Every screen in the room, working for you.

  • Events
  • For venues, events and celebrations

BirdsEye puts every TV in the room to work, from lobby to booth to ballroom. One QR scan with a phone sets a screen up. Pick a design and your brand colours apply, then the phone runs every screen at once: your brand between sessions, the demo during the rush, the giveaway at four.

  • Designs for every wall: schedule boards, wayfinding maps, sponsor loops and social walls
  • One phone, every screen: send an alert across all of them at once
  • Scan to join: a wish lands on the wall, or a visitor becomes a lead
  • Runs in the browser on any TV, from a Fire Stick to a video wall
More about BirdsEye
  • Built-in AI makes the artwork when you need it
  • Celebrations too: birthdays, weddings and Halloween, with a name on every TV
  • Set it up the night before, and run the show on the day

Where AI helps: built-in AI makes artwork for a screen in your brand's colours, so a booth or a birthday looks finished without a designer.
