Leading teams and writing the code

At Sacred Blue, the people who lead a project also write production code. That keeps estimates honest and decisions close to the work.

We bring the habits of larger engineering organizations to small, fast projects: written decision records and design proposals, service level objectives, end-to-end testing and dashboards that track what matters. They are light enough for a small team and strong enough to keep a product reliable.

03

Scale we have handled

Our experience covers online giving, investor relations software, global e-commerce, consumer media, marketing automation and telecom. Across that work we have:

  • Shipped releases at 99.9% uptime on a national donation platform
  • Cut page load times in half on a production platform
  • Built and run databases of 25 million records
  • Led web, tablet and mobile teams side by side
  • Built GraphQL APIs on AWS and Azure

04

Products we build and run ourselves

Experience is easier to trust when you can use the result. Sacred Blue builds and runs four flagship apps: Parler for language, Jokerz for sports, Panjo for music and Waterfall for memories. Elly, BirdsEye and Swyble are live too, with Swyble on the App Store and Google Play.

Across these products we ship to the App Store and Google Play, build for TV screens on Samsung Tizen, LG webOS and Fire TV, and handle payments with Stripe, RevenueCat and in-app purchases.

A network that lets us scale fast

Over 29 years, the studio's leadership has hired, led and mentored a wide network of engineers, designers and specialists. Sacred Blue keeps a small senior core and brings in people from that network when a project grows. Because we have worked with them before, a larger team can start quickly and keep the same standards.

Sacred Blue Studios brings 29 years of shipping software. Its leadership has grown engineering teams of up to 20 engineers, shipped 7 releases at 99.9% uptime on a national donation platform and run more than 30 cloud projects in production. The studio has used AI in production code since 2023.

Sacred Blue Studios is a small, senior studio in Toronto that takes on a few client projects at a time. It uses AI agents for repetitive work and grows the team for larger projects with people from its own network of engineers, designers and specialists.

Yes. Over 29 years, the studio's leadership has hired, led and mentored many engineers, designers and specialists. Sacred Blue brings in people from that network when a project needs more hands, so a bigger team starts quickly with people who already know how the studio works.

Sacred Blue's client work spans more than 10 organizations in legal tech, fertility, wellness hospitality and education. The experience behind the studio also covers online giving, investor relations software, global e-commerce, consumer media, marketing automation and telecom.

Sacred Blue writes its own code. The people who lead each project write production code, with AI coding agents helping on repetitive work. When a project grows, the studio adds trusted people from its own network rather than handing the work to an unknown vendor.
